Software Engineers II - Risk and Fraud Technology (Java)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, United States; telecommuting or working from home may be permissible under company policies.

What you will do

• Design and develop moderately complex secure application code across distributed systems.
• Build authentication, authorization, identity verification, access control, fraud prevention, and transaction risk assessment modules.
• Develop secure RESTful APIs and integrate MFA, OAuth-based authorization, token lifecycle management, and identity federation.
• Implement security controls, monitoring, audit logging, and compliance processes aligned with PCI and PSD2.
• Identify vulnerabilities, fraud patterns, and system risks, then implement corrective measures to improve resilience.
• Collaborate with application, fraud and risk, security engineering, and infrastructure teams; support vendor integrations, client meetings, delivery planning, and junior engineer mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus four years of relevant experience; alternatively, a relevant master’s degree plus two years of experience.
• Professional experience with Java for secure, scalable backend applications, authentication and authorization modules, and fraud detection or risk assessment logic.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and implementing secure endpoints with authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Experience with Linux or Unix environments, including deployment, runtime configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience with Git and cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), for secure application deployment and infrastructure management.
