Senior Linux Systems Engineer – Application Support and DevOps

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid work model. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Lead the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Linux systems for performance, security, scalability, and resilience.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement innovative solutions.
• Manage system migrations and upgrades, including web server transformations from WebSphere to JBoss.
• Implement security protocols involving SSL certificates, reverse proxies, and load balancing.
• Support monitoring and scheduling platforms including Zabbix, Grafana, ELK, Control-M, and VTOM.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment pipelines using Git, Jenkins, XL Deploy, XL Release, Docker, and OpenShift, while automating tasks with Shell and Python.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Linux-based IT projects.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments; Windows Server knowledge is a plus.
• Professional experience with Shell or Python scripting.
• Experience managing web servers, especially WebSphere-to-JBoss migrations.
• Knowledge of SSL, reverse proxy, load balancing, scheduler tools, monitoring platforms, and deployment tooling.
• Fluent English and Portuguese; existing legal right to work in the European Union required.

Nice to have

• Linux or cloud technology certifications.
• Experience working in European Union markets.
