Data Engineer Intern (Gaming)

Location: Hybrid, on-site position based in Belgrade, Serbia

What you will do

• Build large-scale data pipelines processing billions of events each day.
• Design and develop a self-service data warehouse and business intelligence platform for game teams.
• Design and develop machine learning pipelines that help data scientists build new models from game data.
• Apply continuous integration and delivery practices.
• Optimize testing, tooling, and data quality.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, performance marketing, and product teams.

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completing a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
• Coding skills in Python, Java, C#, or similar languages.
• Knowledge of relational databases.
• Interest in building data pipelines and working with large-scale data.
• Ability to work in a hybrid, on-site role based in Belgrade, Serbia.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, Astronomer, AWS Step Functions, Azure Data Factory, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Data Warehouse, Snowflake, Databricks, Teradata, Hive, Presto, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, Amazon Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs, RabbitMQ, or similar stream-processing tools.
• Knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, data modeling, data access, data storage, cloud platforms, or SQL.
