Health & Safety Officer

Location: Onsite in Dublin, Ireland

hirify.global's Outsourced Technical Services department supports the safe delivery of engineering and operational projects.

What you will do

• Monitor site activities and project works for compliance with Irish health and safety legislation, company procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, safety tours, and reviews of risk assessments and method statements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazardous occurrences, then track corrective actions through close-out.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and briefings for employees, contractors, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Maintain safety records, contractor documentation, statutory notices, signage, emergency arrangements, and management reports.
• Support emergency drills, environmental controls, waste management, wellbeing initiatives, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in a health and safety role within construction, engineering, facilities management, industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, or large-scale event environments.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and experience with inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with competence in Microsoft Office applications.
• Full driver's licence and ability to travel as required.

Nice to have

• Chartered or Graduate Membership of IOSH.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Internal Auditor qualification.
• First Aid Responder certification or Fire Marshal / Fire Warden training.
• Experience in live operational facilities or public-facing environments.
