Software Engineer - GBM Regulatory Engineering-Warsaw-Vice President (AI)

Location: Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland; onsite role at the Warsaw office.

What you will do

• Lead technical discussions, system design, development, testing, and delivery for regulatory engineering projects.
• Build secure, maintainable, and scalable systems supporting non-financial regulatory reporting for Global Banking & Markets.
• Partner with technology, strategy, and business teams across the firm to implement regulatory solutions.
• Modernize platforms and workflows through cloud-native architecture and large-scale migration from legacy on-premises systems.
• Analyze performance metrics, monitor initiatives, optimize delivery approaches, and report results to stakeholders.
• Guide engineers, enforce development best practices, and lead cross-functional stakeholder workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and implementing real-time distributed processing systems and event-processing architectures.
• Expertise in large-scale migrations to cloud-based Lakehouse environments, preferably AWS, and experience with near-real-time transactional systems using Kafka and NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, managed services, containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building secure, highly available, and scalable systems in large enterprise organizations.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java, with experience developing, testing, and maintaining production-ready code.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; experience as an Engineering Manager or Senior Technical Lead is relevant.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-first user interfaces, generative features, streaming LLM responses, and Model Context Protocol.
• Experience conceptualizing and evaluating AI/ML systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and model fine-tuning.
• Experience designing multi-agent systems with LangGraph or CrewAI and BPMN-based autonomous decision-making.
