VMU Technician

Location: Greenford, United Kingdom; field-based work conducted on-site at customer locations

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs, modifications, and diagnostic analysis on customer vehicles and related ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose faults, fit replacement parts correctly, and ensure warranty claims comply with warranty terms.
• Attend customer sites and other VMU depots as required to carry out repairs and provide operational cover.
• Complete job cards, service sheets, timesheets, handovers, and other operational paperwork accurately and on time.
• Support continuous improvement, multi-skilling, customer relationships, and effective workshop operations.
• Follow company, industry, and legal health, safety, and environmental standards, including safe systems of work and PPE requirements.

Requirements

• Essential mechanical technical engineering experience.
• Experience working in a mechanical environment and ability to read wiring diagrams and technical information.
• Ability to work with minimal day-to-day supervision and use computers effectively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Full driving licence required.
• Flexibility to work at different locations when required, including to cover leave, sickness, and workload.

Nice to have

• GCSEs in Mathematics and English.
• Electrical and mechanical certificates, an NVQ in mechanical engineering, or relevant experience.
