Security Analyst Future (Summer 2027 Internship)

Location: Onsite in Overland Park, Kansas, at the hirify.global Solutionarium. The eight-week summer internship is based in the Kansas City metropolitan area; housing options may be available for eligible interns who are not local.

hirify.global provides healthcare and human services technology platforms for behavioral health, public health, home health, hospice, and other care organizations.

What you will do

• Build relationships and collaborate with IT Security and Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Network Engineering, Support Operations, and business functions.
• Support initiatives that improve the company’s security posture.
• Gain hands-on exposure to enterprise firewall clusters, VPN devices, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Review security support models and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Monitor change requests with team members to ensure they do not introduce security or compliance risks.
• Apply security requirements, standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Information Security or Computer Science with an emphasis in Information Security.
• Demonstrated passion for cybersecurity, technology, solution design, and self-study.
• Participation in school clubs or organizations related to security.
• Interest in learning regulatory compliance requirements, including PCI, HIPAA, SSAE SOC 1 Type II, and NIST standards.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Programming or scripting experience.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and implementations or equivalent Azure technologies.
• Exposure to identity management, access management, directory services, LDAPv3, SQL, and NoSQL technologies.
