Scientist - Entry Level - Training Provided! - 2nd Shift

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite laboratory work on the 2nd shift, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Salary: USD 18–20.90 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using approved laboratory methods and standard techniques.
• Perform chemical analysis, evaluate and quantify data, and report results or unusual occurrences.
• Learn and use laboratory instrumentation and method-specific software, with training provided.
• Complete scheduled quality-control samples, maintain training records, and document quality issues.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance, sample purging, glassware handling, inventory, and laboratory housekeeping.
• Follow health, safety, quality assurance, and standard operating procedures while supporting other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field; an associate degree or two years of related laboratory experience may substitute.
• Computer proficiency and the ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
• Strong organization, communication, collaboration, accuracy, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a laboratory or production environment.
• Exposure to organic preparation, metals, PFAS, HRMS, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, radiochemistry, wet chemistry, or high- and low-resolution analysis.
