TL;DR
Commercial Field Systems Technician (Electric Marine): Building and integrating electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems for commercial electric vessels with an accent on high-voltage systems, communication interfaces, and prototype development. Focus on diagnosing 1000V DC and 480V AC systems, solving root-cause issues, and supporting sea trials, deployments, and customer-facing technical operations.

Location: Torrance, California; full-time, on-site at the Los Angeles headquarters, with up to 75% travel. Work includes dockside and on-water vessel environments. Applicants must be a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations because the role may involve export-controlled information.

Hourly wage: $46/hr at S3 or $50/hr at S4.

What you will do

  • Assemble and integrate electrical and mechanical systems for commercial marine vessels.
  • Build and route wire harnesses, including fiber optic cable assemblies where applicable.
  • Install and terminate electrical components and CAN, Ethernet, Modbus, and other communication interfaces.
  • Diagnose issues in 1000V DC and 480V AC systems using electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Assemble pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems while supporting development builds and prototypes.
  • Support sea trials, deployments, customer-facing technical operations, and root-cause troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with high-voltage systems in EV, industrial, marine, or similar environments.
  • Familiarity with CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, or similar electrical communication systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, system diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience using multimeters and other standard electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Experience creating work processes and instruction documentation from inception through execution.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, stand for 6–10 hours per day, lift up to 50 lbs, and work on or around water vessels; U.S. Person status is required for ITAR compliance.
