Software Engineer II - Map Enablement (Autonomous Vehicles)

Salary: $139,000–$166,800 per year, plus bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, cost-effective mapping and routing data pipelines and services.
• Translate ambiguous internal customer needs into technical designs and well-scoped features.
• Collaborate with Map Enablement and neighboring engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Participate in technical design and code reviews and contribute to project planning.
• Implement testing, monitoring, and alerting to improve operational excellence.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and support the health of production services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a relevant master’s degree with 0–3+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, especially Python or C++.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, IAM, EventBridge, Glue, and Athena.
• Experience building and operating high-throughput data processing pipelines.
• Ability to work through changing requirements, propose technical solutions independently, and debug complex software defects.
• Experience with source control and agile workflows such as GitHub and JIRA, plus strong written and verbal technical communication.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of geospatial data concepts and tools such as GeoJSON, PostGIS, QGIS, and OSM.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques for geospatial data analysis.
• Experience with high-definition mapping or scaling autonomous systems.
• Experience in navigation or the automotive industry.
