Senior Mechanical Engineer (Biotech)

Location: Raheen, Limerick, Ireland; onsite

Salary: 54,200.00–103,200.00 annually

What you will do

• Represent mechanical engineering within multidisciplinary projects from concept development through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and handover.
• Lead mechanical engineering activities for manufacturing, laboratory, clean utility, process utility, HVAC, building services, and site infrastructure projects.
• Maintain and improve mechanical specifications, design guidelines, equipment datasheets, piping layouts, P&IDs, utility designs, calculations, and vendor submissions.
• Support contractor management, construction, commissioning, startup, qualification, and system turnover documentation.
• Lead design reviews, constructability reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, engineering evaluations, and technical reviews of consultant, contractor, and vendor designs.
• Develop project scopes, business cases, budgets, schedules, resource plans, and technical justifications while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with increasing responsibility in mechanical systems, utilities, facilities, or project engineering.
• Experience leading mechanical engineering activities in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, utility distribution, piping systems, pumps, pressure vessels, clean utilities, and facility infrastructure.
• Excellent technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment and provide technical coaching.
