Associate Scientist, In Vivo (Gene Therapy)

What you will do

• Support in vivo experiments for pre-clinical gene therapy programs, including viral vector and compound injections in mice, blood draws, and necropsies.
• Process rodent samples and tissues for downstream and histological analysis.
• Develop and optimize in vivo techniques and translational assays to evaluate viral vector biodistribution and efficacy.
• Maintain meticulous records and communicate findings with junior and senior colleagues.
• Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Contribute to translating research discoveries into therapeutic candidates across discovery and clinical development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Experience handling mice and familiarity with rodent injection and blood collection techniques.
• Experience collecting and preparing multiple rodent tissue types for histological analysis.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
• Comfort working with animals, asking questions, taking notes, and summarizing high-level takeaways.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and optimizing protocols, assays, or standard operating procedures.
