Nature Networks Project Officer (Biodiversity)

Location: Initially based at hirify.global’s Yorkshire Office in Pickering, moving to the Dalby Forest Office in autumn/winter 2027. Regular travel across hirify.global’s Yorkshire estate and occasional travel outside Yorkshire are required.

What you will do

• Lead the development and delivery of Yorkshire District’s Nature Networks project within the Biodiversity Programme.
• Plan and deliver large-scale habitat creation and restoration projects across roadsides, rides, watercourses, and open spaces.
• Develop project plans, commission ecological assessments, and manage budgets and contracts.
• Coordinate practical habitat management, grazing, contractors, and long-term biodiversity management approaches.
• Work with ecologists, foresters, operational teams, and colleagues across England to deliver nature recovery initiatives.
• Support funding, reporting, innovative biodiversity approaches, and communications showcasing project impact.

Requirements

• Experience relevant to the project officer role and the delivery of nature recovery or biodiversity projects.
• Ability to manage projects from initial concept through to practical on-the-ground delivery.
• Experience coordinating contractors, ecological work, habitat management, grazing, budgets, and contracts.
• Ability to provide conversation in accurate spoken English is required.
• Successful candidates must complete a criminal record check and government Baseline Personnel Security Standard check.
