Volunteering and Community Engagement Officer

Location: Coleford, Forest of Dean; Haldon, Devon; or another local office within hirify.global’s West district. Travel across the district is an important part of the role.

What you will do

• Engage with local communities across forest beats to help ensure woods are welcoming and safe.
• Reach out to community groups, facilitate visits, and increase understanding and support for hirify.global’s work.
• Provide specialist support for volunteering opportunities at forest beats and major recreation sites.
• Help increase the number and quality of volunteering opportunities in line with the Growing the Future to 2031 strategy.
• Promote added value and best practice across volunteering activities.
• Travel across the West district to support community engagement and volunteering work.

Requirements

• Relevant experience and career history in volunteering, community engagement, or a related area.
• Ability to work across hirify.global’s West district and travel between locations.
• Accurate spoken English is required.
• Ability to communicate and influence, work collaboratively, improve services, and manage quality.
• Successful candidates must complete a criminal record check and the government baseline personnel security standard check.
