HR Manager (Construction)

What you will do

• Take full ownership of the HR function, including systems, policies, and practices.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, benefits, and daily HR support.
• Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and compensation structures.
• Ensure compliance with employment law and safety regulations for office and field personnel.
• Design and implement performance management, career development, and engagement programs.
• Support recruiting efforts through offer structuring and compensation benchmarking.

Requirements

• 5+ years of HR experience, including employee relations and compliance.
• Proven experience building or significantly shaping HR processes and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Texas employment law and compliance requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams, from engineers to field operators.
• Must be willing to relocate to Austin, TX if not within commuting distance.

Nice to have

• Experience as a founding or early HR hire at a fast-growing startup.
• Background supporting construction, manufacturing, or hardware-focused workforces.
• Hands-on experience with Rippling or similar HRIS platforms.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification.
