Dynamics Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: On-site in Redondo Beach, California for the 12-week internship from May/June to August/September 2027

Salary: $30.00 per hour, with overtime eligibility

What you will do

• Determine and validate loads and dynamic environments for full vehicles and component subsystems.
• Analyze spacecraft structural dynamics, vibration, shock, and related dynamic environments.
• Develop and maintain analytical models and tools for evaluating vehicle and component dynamic response.
• Analyze test and flight data to validate models and characterize vehicle performance.
• Collaborate with design, structures, propulsion, GNC, and test engineers to resolve vehicle-level dynamic issues.
• Support the planning, execution, and analysis of dynamic and vibration testing of spacecraft hardware.

Requirements

• Completed or actively pursuing a degree in engineering or science.
• Working knowledge of dynamics, mechanics, and vibrations.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and work effectively in a small team.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Redondo Beach, California for the full internship.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements through U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or required U.S. Department of State authorization.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems.
• Experience taking hardware or analysis projects through design, build, test, or validation.
• Familiarity with CAD software and analysis tools such as MATLAB and Excel.
• Experience with accelerometers, strain gauges, load cells, or other test instrumentation.
