Propulsion Analyst Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2027

Salary: $28 USD per hour; relocation cost stipend may be available.

What you will do

• Create FEA or CFD models for new and updated propulsion designs.
• Analyze critical rocket engine hardware and support the propulsion team.
• Contribute to the design and testing of the Archimedes rocket engine.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical propulsion challenges.
• Work with mentors and cross-functional colleagues while providing progress updates.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• GPA of at least 3.0.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through internships, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2027.
• For U.S. offices, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or applicable government authorization.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above and at least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, ANSYS, Siemens NX, MATLAB, SolidWorks, FEA, CFD, or CAD/CAM.
• Knowledge of heat transfer, cryogenics, and superficial fluid behavior.
