Propulsion Analyst Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time, on-site work for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning in January, February, or March 2027.

Salary: $28 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Support the Propulsion team by creating FEA and CFD models for new and updated designs.
• Analyze critical rocket engine hardware and contribute to the design and testing of the Archimedes rocket engine.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real propulsion challenges.
• Work with mentors and multidisciplinary colleagues while providing regular progress updates.
• Participate in technical talks and professional events with interns and employees.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Have a GPA of at least 3.0.
• Have at least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Be able to work full-time on-site in Long Beach for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks.
• For US office work, meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including US citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or required government authorizations.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above and at least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, ANSYS, Siemens NX, MATLAB, SolidWorks, FEA, CFD, or CAD/CAM.
• Knowledge of heat transfer, cryogenics, and fluid behavior.
