Head of Integrated Communications (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, United States; Wednesdays work from home.

Salary: $210K–$260K annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and own the integrated communications function across narrative, content, press, customer stories, creators, SEO, and AI answer-engine presence.
• Develop message architecture and audience-specific communications for practitioners, GTM leaders, the AI community, press, and recruits.
• Turn founder expertise into consistent posts, essays, podcasts, talks, and video.
• Build trusted relationships with journalists, newsletter writers, podcasters, creators, operators, and practitioners.
• Create repeatable customer-story, editorial, distribution, and creator-program systems.
• Lead reputation management, scenario planning, rapid response, analytics, contractors, and agencies while remaining hands-on with high-impact writing.

Requirements

• On-site presence in San Francisco is required, with Wednesdays working from home.
• 8+ years across content, communications, editorial, or journalism, including meaningful experience at a high-growth technology company.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills across founder content, technical explainers, customer stories, press statements, and newsletters.
• Experience ghostwriting for a strong voice and maintaining a consistent founder perspective.
• Established media relationships, proactive news judgment, and experience placing meaningful stories.
• Serious SEO experience, familiarity with AI-assisted search and answer engines, and hands-on use of AI in communications workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience at a technical product, developer, data, or AI-focused company.
• Experience building a B2B creator or influencer program.
• Experience producing original research or a benchmark report cited by the market.
• Video and short-form production experience or comfort appearing on camera.
• Published work demonstrating how AI answers should cite sources.
