Communications Manager (AI)

Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid)

Salary: $190,000–$240,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own the communications plan, calendar, priorities, and results across press, podcasts, awards, and organic speaking.
• Identify compelling stories from AI research, benchmark results, customer wins, executive perspectives, and market developments.
• Secure mainstream and tier-one trade coverage, podcast appearances, and speaking opportunities without relying on an agency.
• Collaborate with Research, Product Marketing, and Content to develop releases, bylines, data stories, social content, and podcast talk tracks.
• Manage awards submissions and the organic speaking proposal pipeline.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in communications, PR, journalism, or content roles, either in-house or at an agency.
• Portfolio of placed and published work.
• Exceptional writing skills, including publication-ready executive bylines and concise media pitches.
• Working fluency in AI and B2B technical topics, with the ability to learn quickly from researchers and engineers.
• Relationships with technology and business media, influential podcasts, and technical influencers.
• Experience tracking and reporting communications results.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontier labs, developer tools, data or ML infrastructure, or enterprise AI companies.
• Former reporter or editor experience.
• Experience managing awards programs and conference CFP submissions.
• Experience using AI tools for research, drafting, and media monitoring.
