Mission Integration Lead (FPV Drones)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Torrance, CA; travel up to 25%.

Salary: $112,500–$157,500 USD annually, base salary only. Equity grants are part of the total compensation package.

What you will do

• Build and run the Mission Integrations team while managing and mentoring Integration Specialists.
• Lead complex and high-visibility hardware and software integration projects from feasibility assessment through proof of concept.
• Act as the primary technical contact for external partner companies during active integration efforts.
• Coordinate with Engineering and other stakeholders on cross-functional integration work.
• Define team direction, technical standards, and documentation practices, including repositories for ICDs, CAD files, and related records.
• Support hiring and onboarding as the team grows.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on FPV drone experience, including building multiple drones from scratch across different sizes, including 8+ inch platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of Betaflight configuration and tuning, ELRS, RF propagation, and spectrum management.
• Experience with FPV Acro flight, light soldering, wiring, and physical prototyping such as 3D-printed mounts and brackets.
• Prior experience managing or leading others, with strong communication skills for working with external partners, customers, and defense or military stakeholders.
• FAA Part 107 certification required.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Torrance, California, United States, and willing to travel up to 25%.

Nice to have

• Military experience or exposure to defense operations and tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• ArduPilot or PX4 experience.
• Experience with contract or commissioned build work for external clients.
• Experience building or scaling a technical team in its early stages.
