Market Analyst - Power Trading Analytics (Energy)

Location: Boston, US

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 base pay annually, excluding short-term incentive compensation and commission.

What you will do

• Deliver short-term power outlooks using proprietary and public data covering North American power markets.
• Lead daily operational activities with the Market Associate and Analyst group and ensure high-quality forecasts and analytics for customers.
• Operate spatial, data visualization, power flow, and other market support tools to identify and solve ISO-specific power market problems.
• Analyze current-day and next-day operational and financial risks for asset owners, traders, and retailers, supporting asset optimization decisions.
• Lead customer calls, trainings, and product demonstrations while communicating market questions, expectations, and findings.
• Develop seasonal outlooks, research projects, reports, and process improvements related to congestion, transmission upgrades, outages, datasets, and market drivers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, energy, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a power or trading function.
• At least 2 years of business or professional work experience.
• Ability to lead and train entry-level associates and analysts.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Visual Basic, or comparable programming languages.
• Experience with ERCOT, MISO, or SPP markets.
