Market Analyst - Power Trading Analytics (Energy)

What you will do

• Deliver short-term power outlooks, forecasts, and analytics using proprietary and public data.
• Operate spatial, data visualization, power flow, and other market-support applications to identify and solve ISO-market problems.
• Assess and communicate current-day and next-day operational and financial risks to asset owners, traders, and retailers.
• Lead customer calls, trainings, and product demonstrations for Power Trading Analytics products.
• Analyze congestion patterns, transmission upgrades, outages, market drivers, prices, and events for seasonal outlooks and research reports.
• Improve operational efficiency by automating critical tasks and developing regional support workbooks with Python or Visual Basic macros.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or an energy-related discipline.
• Previous experience in a power or trading function.
• At least 2 years of business or professional work experience.
• Ability to lead and train entry-level associates and analysts.
• Ability to present complex market research and analytics clearly to customers and decision-makers.
• Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Visual Basic, or comparable programming languages.
• Experience with ERCOT, MISO, or SPP markets.
