Staff Data Engineer, Analytics (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; employees must reside in AL, AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MI, MT, MO, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OR, PA, TX, WA, UT, VA, or WI.

What you will do

• Own the development and technical direction of the analytics platform.
• Improve, extend, and optimize analytics architecture for internal and customer-facing data products.
• Build extensible dimensional models, semantic-layer metrics, and agentic context and tooling for reliable AI-assisted insights.
• Evolve data quality and data governance processes.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product engineers, product managers, data scientists, and operations specialists.
• Mentor and upskill other engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a data engineer, analytics engineer, or in a similar role.
• Advanced SQL, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse design skills.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Proficiency in dbt and experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Astronomer, or Dagster.
• Experience with modern semantic layers and pipelines processing billion-plus-row datasets.
• Strong communication, leadership, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working with and extending AI models to produce high-quality code and reliable analytics.
• Experience with LookML, Cube.dev, Databricks Metrics Views, or dbt MetricFlow.
