Attorney

Location: Hybrid role based at the Summit Claim Litigation office, 180 River Road, Summit, New Jersey 07901; office attendance is expected two days per month and may change based on business needs.

Salary: $146,875–$190,000 per year, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 24% of base salary.

What you will do

• Handle litigation and other legal assignments under Law Department guidelines.
• Own assigned files and develop trial and case strategies.
• Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings.
• Attend trials, mediations, depositions, hearings, and other litigation events.
• Meet with clients and collaborate with attorneys and support staff.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation.
• Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law.
• Experience with trials, mediations, depositions, and file ownership.
• J.D. from an A.B.A.-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active New Jersey law license and membership in good standing with the State Bar of New Jersey.
• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.
