Senior Counsel (Insurance Defense)

Location: Orange County, California; remote, hybrid, or onsite work options are available. An active California bar license is required.

Base salary: $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional annual billable-hours bonuses may apply.

What you will do

• Develop compelling case themes for complex defense matters.
• Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, discovery, and trials.
• Manage full case responsibilities from initial litigation through trial.
• Communicate routinely with clients and cultivate client relationships.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys at all experience levels.
• Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-approved school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• 8+ years of litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Experience managing discovery and all facets of trial case handling.
• Experience with time-management systems and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong independent judgment, communication skills, professional demeanor, and minimal-supervision capability.
