Senior Counsel (Insurance Defense)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. Remote, hybrid, or onsite work options are available.

Salary: $135,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys may also receive an annual billable-hours bonus.

What you will do

• Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, discovery, trials, and full case responsibilities.
• Develop compelling case themes and litigation strategies for catastrophic liability, wrongful death, and other complex matters.
• Communicate routinely with clients and cultivate relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys at all experience levels while exercising significant autonomy.
• Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to less experienced attorneys.
• Use modern case-management, research, and AI-enabled legal tools to improve litigation efficiency and time capture.

Requirements

• Active Arizona Bar license required.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• 8+ years of litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation.
• Ability to manage all aspects of discovery and trial preparation with minimal supervision.
• Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and time-management systems.

• Experience handling insurance defense matters.
• Experience developing case strategies for high-value or complex litigation.
