Zscaler Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; primary locations include Washington, DC and Fort Meade, Maryland. Remote work may occasionally require in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.

Salary: $99,000–$225,000 annualized USD

What you will do

• Develop and implement security solutions for national security infrastructure.
• Deploy and manage Zscaler technologies, including ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX.
• Troubleshoot complex customer challenges involving network and security devices.
• Assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls.
• Integrate security tools to enrich data and expand operational capabilities.
• Research technology and market trends to support improved security strategies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or network security engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience deploying Zscaler, including ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX.
• Knowledge of cryptography protocols and standards, including TLS, mTLS, hashing algorithms, and Public Key Infrastructure.
• Knowledge of federal compliance standards, including NIST 800-53, FIPS, DoD STIG, and FedRAMP.
• Secret clearance is required, with eligibility for access to classified information.
• Bachelor's degree.

Nice to have

• Experience with Office 365, Teams, RDP, web-based interfaces, SSH, and CLI.
• Knowledge of authentication, identity, Linux or UNIX, networking protocols, and Zero Trust concepts.
• CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCP, or Zscaler certification.
