Software Security Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 annually

What you will do

• Embed security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with engineering teams to design secure systems and ship security improvements.
• Identify vulnerabilities and reduce risk across the application portfolio.
• Perform hands-on offensive and defensive security activities, including code review.
• Integrate SAST, DAST, SCA, and other security tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
• Communicate security risks and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; eligible applicants include U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and H-1B transfer candidates.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 5+ years of application security or security engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10, vulnerability classes, exploit patterns, authentication, authorization, and cryptographic primitives.
• Hands-on code review experience across at least two major programming languages.
• Experience with cloud security, infrastructure controls, security automation, and Agile engineering teams.

Nice to have

• OSCP, OSCE, GWAPT, CISSP, or similar industry certification.
• Offensive security tooling and red-team operations experience.
• Bug bounty experience, public CVEs, or open-source security contributions.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM application security.
• Experience in regulated industries with strict compliance requirements.
