Senior Communications Specialist, Transportation (Future Opportunity)

Location: Remote within the United States. The role is associated with Reston, Virginia, and requires U.S. citizenship.

Salary: $74,090–$152,404 annually for full-time employment.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary client contact for federal transportation communications deliverables.
• Direct communications across media relations, digital and social media, publications, speeches, reports, press releases, events, and exhibits.
• Develop and implement communications strategies, messaging, and public-facing and internal deliverables.
• Project-manage multiple task orders, including planning, scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams and liaise with federal professionals, creative teams, and technical subject-matter experts.
• Review communications materials for quality, accuracy, and alignment with the client’s strategic vision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience, including project management for large-scale communications contracts or agencies.
• Project leadership experience with large federal communications projects, including budget development and management.
• U.S. citizenship required by contract.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, time-management, collaboration, and client-interface skills.
• Ability to analyze complex information, identify communications challenges, develop solutions, and provide concise strategic recommendations.

• Experience working with federal transportation clients or in government communications.
• Communications or public relations agency experience.
• Transportation industry experience and knowledge of federal transportation communications style and market.
• Consulting or agency background.
