Sr. Media Relations Strategist (Memphis, TN)

What you will do

• Develop and execute comprehensive regional and national media relations plans supporting fundraising and awareness initiatives.
• Secure media coverage, build reporter relationships, manage interview logistics, and respond to media inquiries and critical incidents.
• Write news releases, holding statements, executive remarks, PR plans, fact sheets, media briefs, talking points, and coverage recaps.
• Organize press conferences and media events involving supporters, celebrities, influencers, and external partners.
• Monitor news coverage, analyze earned media performance, and report insights to communications leadership.
• Coordinate PR agencies and media monitoring vendors, including onboarding, deliverables, campaign execution, and performance feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in journalism, public relations, or marketing communications.
• Strong verbal and written communication, news writing, editing, organization, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in journalism, public relations, Microsoft Office, and AP Stylebook writing standards.
• Excellent command of English spelling, grammar, and usage.
• Ability to build and maintain media relationships and recognize impactful photography.

• Experience in fundraising PR with a global reach.
• Bilingual communication skills.
