Staff Data Scientist

Location: Hybrid role requiring two days per week in the San Francisco office every Tuesday and Wednesday. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $170,000–$225,000 base pay annually, excluding bonus, benefits, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Partner with Product and occasionally Commercial Operations stakeholders to define and solve high-impact analytical problems.
• Conduct analytical deep dives to identify growth opportunities across key product and business levers.
• Define success metrics for new features and products, and evaluate them through advanced experimentation and causal inference.
• Lead central Data Science initiatives, including experimentation systems, data agents, and eventing systems.
• Present actionable insights clearly and help strengthen data analysis and interpretation practices across the organization.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Operations Research.
• At least 7 years of industry experience in data science.
• Strong experience with advanced experimentation and statistical modeling.
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience with Python, data pipeline tooling such as dbt, and Git.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, business acumen, and strategic thinking skills, particularly in commerce or risk.
• Ability to independently lead projects end-to-end and communicate complex findings to executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience productionizing machine learning models.
• Familiarity with MLOps.
