Staff Data Scientist (Generative AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $194,000–$262,500 per year, with potential eligibility for cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define business problems, formulate hypotheses, establish key metrics, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop strategic insights for hirify.global’s core Accounting offering and its small-business customers.
• Build predictive models, conduct experiments beyond traditional A/B testing, and generate customer insights for product innovation.
• Create reusable customer segmentation patterns to improve targeting, positioning, and customer experience.
• Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Design, and Analytics leaders on product strategy and growth.
• Communicate complex data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders and business leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Econometrics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data science or product analytics.
• Strong experience with predictive modeling, customer segmentation, experimentation, and large datasets.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills, including statistical and modeling libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn.
• Experience designing and interpreting complex experiments beyond traditional A/B testing.
• Experience building scalable, reusable analytics solutions and communicating effectively with decision-makers.

Nice to have

• Experience with causal inference techniques such as propensity score matching, difference-in-differences, and synthetic control methods.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and evolving technologies for extracting insights from multimodal data.
• Experience with Qlik, Tableau, or Plotly Dash.
