Senior Software Engineer II, KYC (Python)

Location: Toronto or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Salary: 181,050–213,000 CAD annually

What you will do

• Lead complex technical projects from concept through production while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Re-architect fragmented KYC products into a unified compliance platform.
• Identify and implement changes that simplify code and infrastructure and deliver measurable business impact.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve workflow and code quality.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Collaborate with product and design to build effective user solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience is recommended for this level.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Python, Django, React, Postgres, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with Java, gRPC, and AWS is relevant to the technology environment.
• Ability to break down complex user stories and execute with minimal guidance.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs and connect implementation decisions to business goals.
• Must work from Toronto or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
