Strategic Sourcing Analyst III (Automotive)

Location: Detroit, MI, US; hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States. Relocation assistance is not available.

Starting salary: $95,000–$121,000 USD per year, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Partner with Engineering during early product development to understand requirements and identify capable suppliers for powertrain components.
• Develop sourcing strategies and business cases covering total cost of ownership, production scenarios, supplier models, and global platform synergies.
• Implement sourcing strategies for new and series products, technical changes, premise changes, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Negotiate supplier contracts covering pricing, terms and conditions, quality, warranty, long-term agreements, and aftermarket requirements.
• Lead cost optimization, value analysis, vendor recovery, supplier dispute resolution, and risk mitigation initiatives.
• Collaborate on capacity planning, manufacturing efficiency, customs compliance, logistics, warehousing, cash flow optimization, and data-driven negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Materials Science, Logistics, or a related technical field.
• 5–7 years of experience in procurement.
• Experience engaging in negotiations and aligning with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship and applications from existing visa holders are not accepted.
• An attached resume is required.
