Outreach Coordinator

Location: Columbus, Ohio, USA; onsite role with community outreach, public events, periodic travel, some evening hours, and occasional weekends.

What you will do

• Recruit eligible youth for the Job Corps program through community agencies, American Job Centers, and public events.
• Conduct applicant orientations and interviews, including parent participation for minors.
• Process applicant files through data entry, document scanning, and quality assurance checks.
• Coordinate with centers on applicant travel arrangements and provide referrals and support services.
• Assess graduate and former trainee placement readiness and support timely placement and retention in jobs, military service, education, or training.
• Develop job opportunities through direct contact with employers, One-Stops, JTPA, and state employment agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Four years of experience working with youth ages 16–24.
• Above-average public speaking, verbal, written, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Computer literacy, including internet, email, WordPerfect, or Microsoft Word.
• Ability to work some evening hours, periodic weekends, and travel periodically.
• Valid state driver’s license; 15 semester hours of psychology are preferred.
