Senior Broker-Dealer Accountant (Fintech)

Location: NY Wall Street office, 44 Wall Street, New York City; in-person collaboration required

Base salary: $110,000–$165,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus and full benefits.

What you will do

• Own key components of monthly and quarterly close across a multi-entity environment.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and financial reporting.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks between sub-ledgers and the general ledger.
• Support broker-dealer regulatory reporting, including FOCUS reports, net capital, and reserve calculations.
• Coordinate audit requests, prepare documentation for external auditors, and respond to inquiries.
• Identify control gaps, resolve close issues, and improve accounting processes and documentation.

Requirements

• 3–7+ years of accounting experience with broker-dealer or financial services exposure.
• Hands-on experience with monthly close, account reconciliations, and external audits.
• Familiarity with SEC and FINRA reporting requirements, including net capital, reserve, and FOCUS reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar.
• Understanding of internal controls and audit documentation standards.

Nice to have

• Crypto or digital asset accounting experience, including custody, wallet tracking, and fair value considerations.
• CPA certification or active progress toward certification.
• Series 27, Financial and Operations Principal support experience, or a clearing firm background.
