Automation Technician

Location: Onsite in Fargo, North Dakota, United States

Starting wage: $28.67 per hour. Night-shift differential: $2.00 per hour; weekend-shift differential: $3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on automated encapsulation, packaging, picking, storage, and retrieval equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, belts, rollers, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, relays, and motor-control boards.
• Inspect equipment, identify root causes, and determine effective repair or adjustment solutions.
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production hours to support equipment uptime goals.
• Read service manuals and work orders to complete maintenance and repair activities.
• Document maintenance work, work-order numbers, and spare-parts usage in the CMMS.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair automated equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour night shifts, including 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. shifts and Sunday-through-Thursday third shifts.
• Ability to perform heavy work involving up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to comply with GMP, safety, and quality-assurance practices.

• Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
