Senior Associate, Corporate Finance (Commercial Lending)

Location: Chevy Chase, Maryland, United States; on-site

Salary: $105,000–$120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Underwrite new corporate finance transactions and prepare detailed investment memorandums.
• Manage and monitor an assigned portfolio of loans, including quarterly reviews and real-time credit discussions.
• Review financial statements, sponsor models, quality-of-earnings reports, market studies, and other diligence materials.
• Assess investment theses, business risks, mitigating factors, credit structures, and industry trends.
• Support amendments, waivers, restructurings, legal document reviews, and final investment-term documentation.
• Participate in discussions with private equity sponsors, borrowers, external legal counsel, and BancAlliance network members.

Requirements

• On-site work in Chevy Chase, Maryland; work is primarily conducted in an office setting.
• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline is preferred.
• At least four years of experience in public accounting, financial consulting, valuation, leveraged finance, investment banking, or a related finance or accounting field.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, financial statement analysis knowledge, and understanding of debt finance, risk management, and credit quality.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; strong Excel-based modeling skills are preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CapitalIQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg, and other market data sources.
• Bachelor's degree focused on accounting, finance, economics, or another quantitative field.
• Strong Excel-based financial modeling experience.
