Privacy Lawyer (AI/Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid role based in the San Francisco or New York office, with in-office work 3 days per week

Salary: $200,000–$255,000 annual base pay, plus equity

What you will do

• Advise teams on privacy laws affecting clinical data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, product development, and sensitive information.
• Develop and scale privacy programs aligned with HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, biometric privacy laws, and emerging U.S. state privacy legislation.
• Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, Security, Marketing, and commercial legal teams to embed privacy into product development.
• Support data-sharing, vendor, partner, platform-service, and contractual governance questions, including negotiation of BAAs.
• Monitor privacy, cybersecurity, healthcare, and AI regulations and translate changes into recommendations and action plans.
• Create scalable privacy tools, including templates, playbooks, intake processes, policies, notices, and training.

Requirements

• 7+ years of legal experience at a technology company or technology-focused law firm.
• Experience leading, developing, advising on, and evaluating product compliance programs.
• Practical, risk-based judgment balancing legal, regulatory, business, and customer considerations.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, organizational, and independent working skills.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.

• Prior experience in healthcare or health technology.
• Knowledge of the intersection between privacy regulations and artificial intelligence.
