Clinical Pharmacist - Inpatient Operations

Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite hospital-based role

Salary: $111,175.79–$141,756.53 per year based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Review, interpret, approve, and enter medication orders, checking indications, dosage accuracy, allergies, interactions, and therapeutic duplication.
• Prepare, compound, label, and dispense medications while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Provide medication histories, reconciliation, drug information, medication optimization consultations, and patient education.
• Coordinate clinical pharmacy activities, supervise support personnel, and provide operational coverage during weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and on-call periods.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, medication-use evaluations, quality programs, treatment guidelines, protocols, and clinical pathways.
• Educate pharmacists, physicians, nurses, students, interns, residents, patients, and families; serve as a pharmacy preceptor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Current pharmacist license required.
• At least one year of related experience; direct patient-care clinical pharmacy experience is required through residency training or prior employment.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, clinical best practices, medication optimization, drug formularies, and electronic medical records.
• Strong communication, presentation, clinical judgment, organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice to have

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Board certification.
• Four years of related clinical pharmacy experience.
• Experience with drug utilization review and analysis.
