Senior Systems Architect

Location: Hybrid role based in Oakville, Ontario, with three days per week in the Oakville office.

Salary: $127,600–$159,500 per year.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and technical direction of the shared platform layer, including service boundaries, contracts, and shared capabilities.
• Govern technical standards across architecture, engineering, and operations, from drafting and review through ratification and maintenance.
• Define cloud architecture patterns for multi-account environments, network topology, workload isolation, resilience, and shared services.
• Set architectural direction for identity and access management across product and corporate systems.
• Align architecture with Security requirements and public-sector compliance obligations, including SOC 2, PCI DSS, and GovRAMP.
• Identify high-risk initiatives, define remediation sequencing, advise the AI team, and contribute to the Architecture Review Board.

Requirements

• 10+ years in technology, including 5+ years in architecture or staff-level roles.
• Hands-on production-scale experience with cloud, infrastructure, or IT engineering.
• Deep experience with organizational-scale cloud architecture, including multi-account AWS environments, networking, workload isolation, and shared services; working fluency with Azure.
• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure as code.
• Strong identity and access architecture experience with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM.
• Experience leading standards or governance practices across teams through influence, consensus-building, and clear communication.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating technology estates after an acquisition.
• Experience delivering centralized AI capabilities, including model access patterns, data handling, and technical guardrails.
• FinOps experience and familiarity with cloud cost accountability frameworks.
• Public-sector or govtech experience, or a professional-level AWS or Azure cloud architecture certification.
