Design For Test Intern, MS - Summer 2027 (DFT)

Expected base pay: $30–$59 per hour

What you will do

• Develop understanding of block-level and chip-top DFT and pattern-generation flows for complex SoC designs.
• Execute DFT insertion, pattern-generation, and verification flows for Scan, MBIST, Boundary Scan, and IP macro testing.
• Run DFT checks, analyze results, resolve testability issues, and improve DFT coverage.
• Support DFT flow automation using Tcl, Python, or shell scripting.
• Contribute to DFT documentation and methodology improvements.
• Present internship project results to the team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Good understanding of digital logic design using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
• Knowledge of DFT concepts, JTAG standards, and Boundary Scan implementation.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Tcl.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
• Must be eligible to access export-controlled technology and software under applicable U.S. export control laws; an export license review may be required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Scan test, memory BIST/BISR, functional test, JTAG, or other test methodologies.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools for coding, scripting, and automation.
