Testing and Exercising Specialist (Operational Resilience)

What you will do

• Lead and continuously improve the operational resilience testing strategy, framework, annual programme, and rolling three-year exercise plan.
• Design, coordinate, and facilitate tabletop exercises, simulations, live tests, and other severe-but-plausible resilience activities.
• Provide central oversight of testing coverage across important business services, critical processes, CMORG scenarios, vulnerabilities, and resilience capabilities.
• Collaborate with Cyber, Threat Intelligence, Technology, Risk, Business Continuity, Incident Management, and business teams to develop risk-led scenarios.
• Produce governance reporting, metrics, evidence, documentation, and audit trails for senior leadership and regulatory forums.
• Lead debriefs and lessons-learned reviews, track remediation actions, and escalate overdue or high-risk improvements.

Requirements

• Experience leading, designing, coordinating, and facilitating resilience testing or exercising programmes.
• Experience running large and complex exercises with senior stakeholder engagement.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, written communication, interpersonal, planning, scheduling, and programme management skills.
• Ability to challenge senior stakeholders, work independently, investigate issues, and turn exercise outcomes into practical improvements.
• Experience creating, reviewing, and updating governance documentation, including procedures, frameworks, and policies.
• Participation in a 24/7 Resilience and Crisis Team on-call rota is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of operational resilience frameworks and regulatory expectations.
• Testing experience in financial services.
• Relevant qualifications or operational experience in corporate, military, law enforcement, or government environments.
