Technical Lead Civil Engineering

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and support for building-specific and civil engineering design activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce, review, and assess technical documentation, engineering studies, specifications, and design deliverables.
• Coordinate technical meetings and interfaces with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Lead technical surveillance activities, develop surveillance programmes, and prepare associated reports.
• Coordinate the resolution of contractor technical queries and ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and project requirements.
• Contribute to lessons learned, best-practice implementation, and continuous improvement of contract management tools and processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• Strong civil engineering design or delivery experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience reviewing technical specifications, engineering studies, and technical documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and complex project environments.
• The role may require Security Clearance and completion of Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

Nice to have

• Experience in nuclear, energy, defence, rail, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Knowledge of contractor management and technical surveillance processes.
• Understanding of quality assurance, governance, and compliance requirements for major projects.
