Process Engineer II (Polymer Processing)

What you will do

• Sustain and improve epoxy molding and other manufacturing processes, with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Lead or participate in quality problem-solving projects, failure analysis, fatigue testing, and process audits.
• Develop sustainable, mistake-proof processing methods, process controls, critical characteristics, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Support new equipment, software, process, and product integration projects, including the molding technology lab and Molding Innovation Center.
• Improve JDE, QMS, MES, and other data collection and reporting systems for business intelligence and analytics.
• Mentor engineers and support staff, manage project metrics, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with cross-functional departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics/Polymer Processing, Materials, or a related field, plus 3–5+ years of materials processing experience.
• Strong experience with Design of Experiments, A/B testing, statistical analysis, polymer rheology, and testing methods such as DSC, TGA, and DMA.
• Experience with failure analysis, root cause analysis, and methods including 8D, 5Why, PDCA, or A3.
• Proficiency with computer-based data analysis and experience with new product production integration or operational improvement projects.
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop less experienced colleagues.
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and project leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience molding and characterizing two-component liquid thermoset plastics, cast resin compounds, vacuum casting, or silicone molding.
• Experience with liquid gelation molding, ring line dispensing, fluid dispensing, or centralized material delivery systems.
• Knowledge of CAD, Pro-E, polymer flow simulation, Six Sigma, or Red X problem-solving methods.
• Experience with polymer material rheology and flow simulation.
