Senior DevSecOps Engineer (Cloud/Kubernetes)

Location: On-site at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO; Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL; or Fort Belvoir, VA. Remote and telework are not available. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $175,000–$220,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Architect, implement, and sustain cloud-native and container platforms across Azure Kubernetes Service, AWS Elastic Container Service, and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated build, testing, security scanning, release, and deployment workflows.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration automation using Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Bash.
• Implement container hardening, image assurance, secrets management, runtime security, and continuous compliance monitoring.
• Integrate legacy, hybrid-cloud, and cloud-native mission systems while supporting platform observability, networking, policy enforcement, and secure access.
• Troubleshoot complex Kubernetes and cloud deployment issues, document architectures and procedures, and communicate risks and recommendations to engineering and government stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of general full-time experience, including at least 6 years of progressive experience in DevSecOps, platform engineering, systems integration, cloud engineering, or related infrastructure engineering.
• At least 1 year of management or leadership experience and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes or other containerized enterprise platforms, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Red Hat OpenShift, and CI/CD automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration automation tools including Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Bash.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, RMF, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust, secure hardening, and cloud-platform compliance controls.
• Active DoW Secret security clearance and a baseline DoD 8140/IAT certification, such as Security+ CE, are required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with MDA or other DoD enterprise modernization programs, hybrid-cloud migration, application modernization, and legacy integration.
• Experience with Coder Platform, observability, continuous Authority to Operate, Agile delivery, and secure cloud-hosted databases.
• CKA, CKS, AWS, Azure, Red Hat OpenShift, Terraform, RHCSA/RHCE, CASP+ CE, CISSP, or comparable certifications.
