Senior Software Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

Location: Remote within the United Kingdom and listed European locations, including Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Frankfurt, Italy, London, Munich, Paris, Poland, and Stockholm.

What you will do

• Design and implement behavior-planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles operating in complex airport airside scenarios.
• Own key behavior-planner modules connecting mission-level goals with motion-level execution.
• Develop efficient and scalable software in C++ and Python.
• Integrate planning systems with cross-functional engineering teams and contribute to software architecture.
• Test and validate planning algorithms in simulated environments and real-world scenarios.
• Analyze system performance, implement improvements, and document code, algorithms, and system designs.

Requirements

• Professional experience with modern C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in Python for rapid prototyping and testing.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and code-optimization skills.
• Deep understanding of behavior planning approaches, including state machines, behavior trees, and probabilistic planning.
• Familiarity with path-planning algorithms such as A*, RRT, or optimization-based methods.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning for behavior prediction and planning.
• Experience with ROS or ROS2.
• Experience implementing high-frequency replanning for dynamic environments.
• Knowledge of low-latency real-time navigation, optimization techniques, and probabilistic models.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Robotics, AI, Mathematics, or a related field focused on planning, optimization, or control theory.
