Senior Software Engineer, Maneuvering Tech (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid role based in Mountain View or San Francisco, California, or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Salary: $251,000–$310,000 USD annual base salary, plus discretionary annual bonus, equity incentives, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Develop software that enables safe, smooth, and predictable autonomous vehicle behavior.
• Handle complex driving situations involving merging, negotiation of narrow roads, and other social interactions with road users.
• Frame open-ended real-world problems as well-defined engineering problems.
• Build tools, algorithms, and evaluation mechanisms for autonomous driving systems.
• Scale solutions to large data pipelines and optimize them for real-time execution on vehicles.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of general software engineering experience.
• Strong C++ programming skills and experience writing efficient code.
• Experience collaborating across different teams.
• Experience with motion planning or related robotics problems is preferred.
• Experience building or evaluating machine-learning-based systems is preferred.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a similar technical field.
• Experience solving motion planning or related robotics problems.
• Experience building or evaluating machine-learning-based systems.
