Data Center Engineer (Trading Infrastructure)

Location: Amsterdam, with frequent travel and on-site work across European colocation sites and provider locations in the EU

hirify.global operates latency-sensitive trading infrastructure across European datacenters, colocation sites, and wireless locations.

What you will do

• Rack, cable, power, commission, troubleshoot, and decommission servers, storage, and network equipment.
• Deliver datacenter deployments, hardware refreshes, site expansions, and connectivity projects.
• Resolve hardware, cabling, power, thermal, optics, and physical network incidents as the on-site escalation point.
• Monitor and forecast rack space, power, cooling, cross-connect, and environmental capacity.
• Manage carriers, colocation providers, remote hands, contractors, site access, hardware shipping, RMAs, and asset disposal.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, support change management and incident response, and automate repetitive operational tasks.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on datacenter experience in a business-critical production environment.
• Strong knowledge of server hardware, rack installation, PDUs, firmware and BIOS, out-of-band management, and component-level troubleshooting.
• Strong structured cabling experience with copper, DAC/Twinax, single-mode and multimode fiber, including optical testing.
• Understanding of colocation power, cooling, redundancy, and environmental monitoring.
• Basic troubleshooting and configuration experience with Cisco or Arista networking and Linux/Debian systems.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Europe, participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, and hold a valid driving licence with unrestricted ability to work at provider sites across the EU.

• Experience in trading or another latency-sensitive production environment.
• Experience supporting microwave and wireless locations.
