Senior DevOps Engineer, CI/CD Platform (Developer Experience)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; office-first hybrid work with on-site attendance several days a week (80%)

What you will do

• Own CI and CD Kubernetes clusters end to end, including capacity, reliability, upgrades, security, and cost.
• Run the self-hosted GitHub Actions platform at scale with Actions Runner Controller, ephemeral pods, runner scale sets, and runner images.
• Operate bare-metal infrastructure, Linux systems, networking, and test data services including MySQL, Redis, and ClickHouse.
• Design build caches, registry mirrors, and platform instrumentation to reduce queue wait and build duration.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, GitOps delivery with Flux and Argo CD, and Kubernetes manifests with Kustomize and Helm.
• Lead incident response, conduct blameless postmortems, and improve the platform through alerts, guardrails, and runbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience running production infrastructure, with Kubernetes at the center.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes scheduling, resource limits, evictions, node pressure, DaemonSets, controllers, and operators.
• Strong Linux and container fundamentals, including containerd or Docker, cgroups, namespaces, storage drivers, and networking.
• Experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code, platform-level CI/CD, GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, and build caching.
• Scripting experience with Bash and at least one of Python or Go, plus practical observability experience with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus-style tooling.
• Clear written English is required. The role follows an office-first hybrid model in Barcelona, with on-site work 80% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with large Ruby on Rails test suites, MySQL, Redis, or ClickHouse.
• Bare-metal provisioning, hardware troubleshooting, overlay or WireGuard networking, VLANs, Cilium, or other Kubernetes CNIs.
• Internal developer tooling, platform APIs, supply-chain security, runner isolation, or image provenance.
• Experience across AWS, Azure, and Cloudflare or contributions to open-source infrastructure projects.
